Y.M.C.A. GYMNASTIC DISPLAY
The ladies' physical culture and gymnastic class invited the senior men's class to a social evening to mark the close of th'e season in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium last night. _ A most enjoyable evening was spent m games and in musical items, contributed, by Messrs E, Black'muir and E. Henderson. During the evening Mr J. V Hanna, physical director, presented prizes recently won in the girls' competition ?or the best all-round girl, Miss E. Churchill being first, Miss S. Martin second, and Miss H. Hatton third. The basketball championship cup, held by the residents' A team last year, was won this year by the swimmers, and Mr E. Rawnsley, on behalf of the residents, handed the cup over to Mr L. M'Donald, captain of the swimmers. Opportunity was taken during the evening to'introduce Mr Robin Adair, who lias recently returned from America, and who is now joining the staff of the Dunedin Y.M.C.A. as intermediate secretary. At the close of the evening Miss J. Jackson, on behalf of the ladies' class, presented Mr Hanna with a case of pipes as a token or esteem for his valuable work durinothe year. °
