FIRST CHURCH CHOIR

On Wednesday next, m the First Church, Steiner's beautiful sotting of the New Testament story, 'The Daughter of Jairus,' compiled expressly for tho Worcester Triennial Musical Festival in 1878, will bo rendered, as well as Meldelssohn's motet, 'Hear My Prayer.' These works provide excellent opportunities for soloists, combined voices in duet and trio, and chorus work. Outstanding items are the duet ' Love Divine! All Love's Excelling,' for soprano and tenor; tenor solo. 'Mv Hope is in the Everlasting'; and the very effective choruses ' Awake Thou That Sleepest' and 'To Him Who Left His Throne on High,' the latter written in the form of a fugue. The soloists will he Miss Foster, Messrs T. Bachop and H. M'Allum; and the choir are to he strengthened for the occasion. The whole performance is under the direction of .Mr V. E. Galway, Mus. Bac, organist and choirmaster.
