REFUND OF PASSAGE MONEY

FOR EX-OFFICERS AND MEN OF BRITISH ARMY. ■The local Defence Office has been notified of the extension of an Army Order which authorises the refund of "passage Sidney for those who proceeded from abroad after the declaration of war and joined the British Army. An extension of the date for the submission of claims will be allowed up to December 31 for the following- special classes who were unable to submit their claims before the Ist September, 1919. No others will be considered. Those who were actually engaged in military operations in distant parts of the world. Plapas other than France, Belgium, or the area of the Rhine Army. Those who were incapacitated by wounds or illness contracted on active service. Those who were killed in a-ction, or ■died from the result of wounds, or illness contracted during their serivce. In this case application should be made by, or on behalf of, the nearest relative. Each claim must be accompanied by a full statement of the reason which prevented its submission before September 1, 1918. Claims will be considered on their merits, provided they come within the above categories and are supported by full particulars. All claims must be submitted to the War Office or to a recognised military authority. Applications will be accepted by the local Defence Office, who will forward them through the High Commissioner to the War Office.
