THE ROSS SMITH FLIGHT

Here axe four Australian airmen—Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith, Sergeants Bennett and Skiers—who for the fir6t time in history invade the unknown air across the world--led by science, imbued wth pluck, and flying a great British machine. The success wad one of the marvels of history, and the two Smiths and their two splendid mechanics axe all acclaimed as world-famous. There is wonderful skill in the arrangement of these unique pictures, which give one an idea of aerial height, the motionless sea, and the ever-changing chequer board of islands and human habitation. What a lesson in geography, too! From hoary Bible lands to teeming India, the very tracks among the Palestinian hills where Christ trod, tiny white ribbons on the green earth, great rivers that are moveless white lines, "age-old buildings, people of every color, whose wonderful architects and engineers had created imperishable beauties before our forefathers had learned to make bough huts and skin jackets. The arrangement and explanation of the pictures are so simple that" an intelligent child can appreciate and understand, and it is sometimes difficult to remember that this slight, modest, youthful Australian (Sir Keith Smith), who tells the story, was one of the four men who essayed and succeeded in a pioneer air feat that is one of the marvels of Empire history. Sir Keith Smith arrives by the 4.45 tram on Saturday next, and the first t>resentation will take place at O'Brien's Empire Theatre at 8 p.m. cm Saturday evening. The reserve plan opens to-morrow at The Bristol.
