EARLY SETTLERS

The monthly committee meeting of th« Otago Ea-vly Settlers' Association was held yesterday, the president (Dr Fulton) being in the chair.

Receipt of the following gifts was reported, and votes of thanks passed: From Mrs J. R. Brown (Tainui), framed photo group of her late father and mother, Mr and Mrs J. M'Cartncy, and members of the family (Portobello), father arrived Storm Cloud 1860, mother Philip Laing 1848; James Elliott (Ettrick), framed portrait of his father and mother. West (Southland), father brig Eliza, to Riverton, 1855, mother Philip Laing 1848; Miss Brown (Young street), framed portraits of her late grandparents, Mr and Mrs Alexander M'Kenzie (Dunedin), Sevilla, 1869 ; Miss 'Sumner), framed picture of the late Captain Cargill's residence.
