WAIHI RETURNS.
, The Waihi Gold Mining Company, durmg the period ended June 12, representing inm Clls -^ 1 ,' da .y f b crus h'6d and treated 1,948 tons of ore for a return of 4,2750 x oi gold, and 12.6480z of silver. Taking the gold at the British mint value of £4 5s per ounce this works oat at £lß,lßl, while, basing the silver on the latest London quotation "for that metal—namely, 4s lid ■ per ozt the-value of that portion of t-he yield ie £2,589. This gives a total estimated return for the period of £20,770 which, compared with the return for the corresponding period of last. year, when 15,072 tons actually- yielded £36.658, shows an apparent decrease of. £14,888. Ihis difference will be -considerably'"reduced, however, when the actual realisation figures are available. . The total amount won from the mine to date, corrected to the end of 1919, is £12,773,"09. Tho following' information has been cabled to the head office c-f the company in London No. 10 level, Fmn'ir> Ldw north section : The drive west from Soldiers’ crosscut has been extended from 100 ft to 152 ft. For the first 2lht tne r. el is about sft wide, and the value 4s 6d a ton. For the next 52ft the value is 53s 9<l a ton and the walls are not to hand. The lodejias junctions with the Empire lode at 155 ft. No. 12 level. Dreadnought lode, east of No. 4 shaft, crosscut ; The drive has been extended from 253 ft to 302 ft. The reef is about 3ft wide and tne value 30s 9c! a ton.
WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. The Wnihi Grand Junction Gold Company during the four weeks ended June 12 crushed and treated 5.890 tons of ore. the return for which is estimated at£9,J6s 2s 3d. The return for the four weeks ended June 27 of last year was £3,677 2s lid from 5,/50 tons of ore. The amount of bullion won from the mine to date is £1.887,877 3s lOd.

From 750 ft to 770 ft the average width is 65in. value £5 19s 3d a ton.- The walls are is ’ exposed. No._ 4 level, .Mary lode : In the east drive at VTOft have driven a crosscut 25ft to the north, intersecting branch, real' 2" which in the east drive from 770 ft to /95ft- tne average width is 55in, vnluu £2 17s 3d a lon. Both walls are exnosud No. 5 level. Mary lode : The oart*drive has been extended to 575 ft. From 550 ft to 6iOrt the average width' is 65in. value 15s 6d a ton. The north wall is exposed No. 6 level, Mary lode : Tile east drive has been extended to 650 ft. From ’6soft/, to 650 ft the- average width is 60in. value 14s lOd a ton. The wails are exposed. No. 8 level. Empire lode : The east"drive has been extended to 1.079 ft in countrv rock.
