JOHN M'GLASHAN COLLEGE
I The Board of Governors of John M'Glashan College, at their last meeting, considered the principal's report, which showed the institution to be in a very satisfactory icondition. The first term has just closed with a total of 109 scholars (boarders 61, day scholars 48). The health of the pupils was reported as very good, and the college is now in vacation. Three teams have been playing in the Saturday football competitions—one in each of the fourth and sixth grades, and one in B grade school. Miss Bertha Clement, M.A., who was the first assistant teacher appointed in the college, has just severed her connection, and she was the recipient of tokens of esteem from the staff and scholars. She has been appointed lecturer in English a at the University of Otago. The completion of the new building is being pushed, on, and it i& anticipated that some part of it will be available early in the Dew term.
