The hull oi the now dreda'o will be constructed of oregon, which will be procured in bulk and cut into the required sizes by the company's Q-.vn sawmill. On the mining area is a' considerable extent of timber country, which hiis already been onco worked, but which still contains a large amount <>£ mil!in--' Umber, and the sawmill will later on be used upon this, the syndicate having obtained milling rights. " Machine shops are to bo erected and housing Accommodation will be provided 'for the employees. Electricity for both power and lighting, purposes will bo brought from Kame'i Forks, and work will bo continued without •cessation day and night. The dredging machinery, which is" being imported from America, will not arrive "for sc-verai months, meanwhile roads and tramlines for haulage are bc-ing laid, and all work is being advanced as far as possible. The Rise and Shine dredge reports a return of 22ozs for 253 hours' dredging. A P.A. menage from Auckland states; '"'Tho Grand Junction return for the f.k weeks ended May 15, was £12,560 from 8,400 tons of stone."
