MALE CHOIR CONCERTS
The concerts in the Bums Hall tomorrow evening and again on Wednesday evening mark the dosing of the thirty-third season. It is doubtful if throughout that long period, when the choir have given some exceptionally fine concerts, more interest has 'been aroused tnan has been created by the forthcoming ones. Several reasons account for the interest displayed, the principal one being the reappearance in Dunedin of Miss Mabelle Esquifant. This lady has steadily improved, and now, with her added knowledge and experience, she ranke as one of the finest contraltos of the Dominion. Hex musical career when she crosses to the other side of the world will be eagerly watched by New Zealanders, who expect great things from her. These concerts are also interesting, because of the fact 'that the part songs have been selected by the subscribers and friends of the society, the committee adding only one item to the list. Splendid support in the way of vocal, instrumental, and elocutionary items should make these concerts noteworthy events. Tuesday evening's programme will be varied slightly for Wednesday evening. Tickets are obtainable at The Bristol, where, seats may be reserved.
