Gazette of Fashion,' m which is announced that the wearing of military decorations on morning dress has recently been approved by the King, ami the regulation published in the ' London Gazette ' U as follows; —"All members of the vari:ms Orders of Knighthood, etc., and alt persons who have been a-warded decorations and medals may, should they wish to do eo, wear their insignia, decorations, end medals with morning dress on official occasions and at public functions. The ribbons of the orders, decorations, and medals may be worn on all occasions at. the discretion of the holder. The method of wearing tha insignia of orders, also decorations and medals, on official occasions, and at public functions with morning dress, is as follows : —Knights Grand Cross, iuiights Grand Commanders, Dames Grand Cross, Knights Commanders, and Dames Commanders should wear the star only on the left breast of the coat, or in a corresponding place on the'dress, as the case may ba. _ Members of the Order of Merit, men . who are members of (ho Order of the Companions of Honor, Companions of the several Orders of Knighthood, Commanders of the Royal "Victorian Order, and men who are Commanders of the Order of the British Empire s-hould wear the ribbon to which the badge is suspended under the tie, which should bo a bow, the badga hanging about threequarters of an inch below the bow. Women who are members of the Order
of the Companions of Honor, Companions of the Distirguished Service Order, officers of the Order, of the British Empire, members of the fourth and fifth classes of the Royal Victorian Order, members of
the Order of the British Empire, persons who have been decorated with the Victoria Cross, the Royal Red Cross, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Military Crops. the Distinguished Flying Cross, tho Air Force Cross, and persons who have been awarded medals' should wear the badges. decorations, and medals on the left breast of the coat, or in a corrasponding place on the dress, as the case may be. For soma time past some sporting mpm . bers of the local telegraph staff have been anxious to try conclusions with a team picked from No. 4 Companv, P. ailf l T Engineers A match was duly arran-od to be tired on the Pelichet Bay ran-e he tween teams of seven a side, the conditions being seven shots and an optional sighter at- ranges 200 and 500 va-ds and last Saturday afternoon, the dav fixed for the contest, proved id;%i for shooting The Jight was good and no wind. The "Old 5? we " represented by Messrs W White F. M'Farlane, T. Francis, and P. Bardsley: the P. and T. Corps' team being. Captain A. O Williams, Lieutenants D. Teitch, and R. J. Anderson, Corporal Bugden, and Sappers ' M'CreadBriggs,_and Tall. A verv enjovable and interesting match ended in n. win for the Territorial team by 46 points. Rut for the somewhat disappointing displav bv one or two of the " Old Sports," who went on to the range with great reputations. the margin would have been considerablv reduced. It is probable that another match wilf be arranged between these teams before the season closes, whea the " Sports " expect or at least hope, to reverse the result. ' General Orders for March contain the following high tribute to Maior-general Sir A. H. Russell by the French Minister of Wari—"Republic of France, Ministry of War, -Minister's Office, Paris, 28th November, 1919. The President of the Council of the Ministry of War mentions in Army Orders the name of the following English officer:—'Major-general Sir A. H. Russell, N\Z. Division. Has led to countlesa victories a splendid division. whose exploits have not been equalled, and •whose reputation was such that on' the arrival of the division on the Somme battlefield during the critical days of March, 1913, the departure of the inhabitants was stopped immediately. The division covered itself with fresh'glory during the battles of the Ancre a la Sambre, at Pnisieux au Mont, Bapaume, Crevecoenr, and Le Quesnoy.'
