Th report of the Congressional investigation of 32 army camps and cantonments built during the war time asserts that the Government lost £16,000,000 on them through waste, inefficiency, and corruption. A telegram from Chicago states that, because Congress has legislated making strikes illegal, thousands of the Railway Brotherhood Membership ceased work, • stopping railway communication partly, and in many sections completely. _ The United States Government have issued an ultimatum stating that all strikers will be dismissed unless they return to work immediately. The unions have not countenanced a cessation of work in. view of Congress taking action r , ~ LONDON, April 12. In the Commons Mr Bonar Law was bombarded with questions respecting ths Anglo-French situation, while in the Lords Viscount- Canon was asked whether Lord Derby had attended the Conference of Ambassadors in Paris Mr Bonar Law asked that the questions to him'be postponed for a coupie or days as this particular point had not been discussed. Mr Claude Lowther asked whether the German army, including the Reichswehr, the militia, and the police, numbered two million men. Mr Bonar Law said he did not think there was a shadow of foundation for such a suggestion. Mr Bonar Law, replying to Colonel Wedgwood, stated that the Government 1 ;; information was that the Reichswehr would' be shortly withdrawn from tho Essen district, but he was unaware whether they had actually been withdrawn. Mr Kenworthy asked whether we were taking steps to insist on the withdrawal of German troops from the neutral zone.—lmperial News Service.,
