EMPIRE, The Smytho Concert Party aro nightly contributing enjoyable vocal programmes at the Empire. To-night Mr Charles .Smytho, the eminent basso, will sing ‘Prologue-’ (‘I Pagliacci’), ‘Up From Somerset’ (Sanderson), ‘Tire Company Sergeant-major* (Sanderson), and ‘Captain Mac.’ Miss Ba-thie Stuart will give some humorous items and Miss Anita Greene will render ‘Prelude’ (Lnmlon Ronald). Miss Miriam Kutncr will bo tho accompanist. ‘A Burglar for a Night’ is the chief item on the picture- section of tho programme. , OCTAGON. ' ‘ Eyes of the Sou!.’ a powerful Paramount drama, featuring the -dainty actress Ekio Ferguson, is the headliner at the Octagon. This picture is founded on ‘ Salt of the Earth,’ the famous ‘ Saturday Evening Post ’ story. The supports are good. 4 QUEEN’S AND KING EDWARD. ‘Within the Law,’ the pictnrisation of the play of the same name, is now showing at these theatres. As in many other works of its kind the film is greater than the play. The supporting programme is a good one. KING’S. ‘ Pay Me,’ which has been well described as a‘‘ good red-biooder story,” is ( the main item at the King’s. There is a well-se-lected list of supporting pictures.
