By reckless living a nephew of the Earl of Guildford, named John North, has wasted a legacy of £3.000. which he received when 21.' He is’ now 32, and at the London Sessions (says the ‘ Daily Chronicle’) he was charged with stealing a motor car belonging to V' imbnsh and Co., Ltd. To carry out the theft he adopted a smart ruse. TVegraphing to the firm, he asked fer the car to be sent to him, and later, in the temporary absence of the chauftenr, drove it away. North, who is of aristocratic appearance, and described himself as an engineer, is reported by the- police to have been con victed several times previously, once for a similar offence. He was found guilty, and_ sentence whs -postponed until next sessions
