—4, CITY POLICE COURT. (BeHue K. Y. Widdowson, Esq., 5.11.) I/rmikenness.—Robert Kerr was remanded for seven cays for medical treatment. _ Alleged Theft.—William John Quan was charged with stealing a watch and chain valued at £1 12s, the propeity of John Edwards.—The. complainant, a waterside worker, living in Leith street, said that accused and he occupied the same bedroom. He mifsed a watch and chain from his vest, which was hanging en the bed. Accused admitted, taking the chain but never returned it. The watch, which was to have beftn raffled, was afterwards found in a pawn sli^p.—-Martin Sullivan, laborer, said that he was with accused when he pawned the watch. He told witness that Edwards had given it to him to rnfrh.— Detective Kelly gave evidence as to recovering the.watch in a pawn office in the Arcade. Accused said he gave the chai;: to a man named Robert Grant, living at Port Chalmers; but witness had been unable anyone of that name theio. —Accused reserved his defence and was committed for trial.
