On Wednesday evening, February 18, the management of the* J. C. Williamson Company welcomed Sir Ross Smith and S:r Keith Smith in royal fashion at. a gala performance of ‘Tift Bing Boys on Broadway ’ (writes a Svdney lady).' The outside facade of the t'heatre was aglow with colored lights and great pendant empire baskets filled with electric fruits and flowers. A crowd of human faces that took no heed of the heavy rain that fell lined the approaches to the theatre, inside the auditorium was gorgeously decorated with festoons of blue ancl wiiite siik. groups of pennons in the same colors, garlands of tinted electric globes, and a wonderful display of bunting. The four stage boxes were latticed with green, and inlaid with deep crimson dahlias and roses. T!;e guests of honor, who. with their parents, dined that evening with Mr and Mrs' Hugh Ward, received a unique welcome, the whole house issiag in an almost frenzied welcome. Sir Keith Smith, weaving a uniform of very pale khaki, bowed and acknowledged the .plaudits with a smile, hut preferred not to go on the stage and make a speech. The sense and good taste displayed by those young soldiers throughout their visit here has added greatly to the ad miration felt for them.
