The Monowai sailed this afternoon for East Const porta nnd Auckland with a full complement of passengers and a large general cargo. Fhe will steam direct to Wellington, and is due at Auckland about Tuesday next. The _Kini will leave Dunedin on Saturday with general cargo for Wellington. She will afterwards proceed to Westport. COOK STRAIT FERRY SERVICE. The Union Company announce that the ferry steamer Maori, which is at present undergoing repairs to hsr boilers at Port Chalmers, is expected to sail about the end of next ’week for Lyttelton, -in which case she will relievo the Mararoa in the run from i.yttriton to Wellington oh Mondag, April 12. Tho Mararoa will then come to Port Chalmers to undergo survey and overhaul. FEDERAL LINER CARAWA. A.SHORE \ caolc message from Melbourne slates that the Federal liner Carawa is ashore on Galapagos Island, near Panama. The cr«w are safe, but. it is feared that tho vessel will become a total wreck. Carawa, is a single-screw steamer oi 0,53-0 tons -gross register, built by Crnggs and Sous at Middlesborough in 1007.
