THE EASTER RACE MEETING.

The race meeting towards which we in Dunedin aro chiefly looking is that of the C.J.C. at Riccarton. The Great Easter is admittedly an open race, at least eight of the final accentors having ■been spiritedly supported In doubles. Soma swear that Arrowsmith will fly away from his opponents; others arc equally sure that Michaela will wear him down in the last furlong; and to-day thero is a disposition to prefer Radial to both these. My own fancy was Royal Stag, but he has gone out; and now I am prophesying a great race between Arrowsmith, Michacla, fiunart, and Brackenfield. Sasanof is a firm favorite for the Great Autumn. He has a big weight, and is likely to be pushed by Nightrnider and Warlike. The Champagne Stakes looks like a fair thing for Sir Q. Clifford’s best after a. race with Right and Left. Tlie Tuapoka meeting at Lawrence on Saturday will draw a big crowd from Dunedin and all country districts, for the acceptance list promises good fields and interesting racing. Rapid River, Bar's y Rigs, Samson, Ardmo ft and Mythology may shape well at this meeting. The _ Beaumont races on Easter '’Monday will also be well patronised, and ws may there see some of the Tuapeka form reversed, as the course has bigger straights. WORK AT RICCARTON.
