LATE TELEGRAMS.
Wellington.—The Government have decided to provide relief for people who have suffered from the floods in North Auckland. The Hon. Mr Coates, membex- for the district, accompanied by an officer of the Public Works Department, left Wellington to-day to visit the district, and see for himself what is needed by the unfortunate residents. Meanwhile authority has been given for the issue of clothing and to meet other urgent requirements. Latest reports indicate that the flood has been more extensive* than the original message indicated.
