AT THE PLAZA
A change of programme was made at the Plaza Theatre this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed by an appreciative audience. The principal picture shown -was Cecil B. De Mille's production, ' For Better, for Worse,' with Gloria Swanson, Elliott Dexter, and Tom Forman in the leading roles. Miss Swanson plays the part of Sylvia Norcross, an intensely patriotic young woman of wealth and high social position. She is loved bv two men, Dr Edward Meade, a specialist in the treatment of children's diseases, and Richard Burton, a young architect. Sylvia likes them both, but is quite unable to choose between them. War is then raging in France, and Burton enlists, while Dr Meade, believing it to be his duty to stop at home, becomes director of a new hospital, and there performs much good work for the future citizens of the" Empire. Finally all ends for tho good of all concerned. There was a good list of. .supporting items also screened.
