HOLINESS MISSION

The Church of Christ holiness mission in the North-east Valley was commenced on Sunday evening, when the missiouer spoke on 'The World's Greatest Need.' God and the world needed men fired with high ideals and lofty purposes, men of resolute hearts and towering aspirations, for the achievement of the greatest good to humanity as a whole, in contradistinction to the service of self. When God founded the family of the most illustrious ra-ce on earth, destined to be the vehicle of conveying, the Great Deliverer, He chose a man—Abram. When the Saviour appeared He chose men, 'and commanded them to follow Him. If men to-day would follow _ Jesus, heeding the instructions given m the Sermon on the Mount, not living for self only, the world's greatest need would be met.

Last evening Mr Imies's subject was Ihe Secret of Power,' which he defined as "getting back to God," who had almighty power, and with the task gave the necessary power of, accomplishment. There was a good attendance. Miss Shakes, of Auckland, verv sweetly rendered a beautiful solo, entitled 'On My Knees.' The mission is to be continued each night this week, and the minister of the church informs us that Mi- Innes is conducting it at his own charges, and that no- collections are taken.
