Waihis continue strong, and a transaction was booked at 50s this morning, the market closing with further buyers at 49s 9d, and a seller at 51s. Talismans, Grand Junctions, and Mount Lyells remain firm, no business being done in these lines. In investment scrip Bank of N.Z. (£6 15s 4d pd.) have had a sharp rise, buyers offering £l9 16s, sellers asking £2O ss; while the £3 6s 8d pd. issue had inquiry at £ls 15s, without a seller. A margin of £lO in P. and O.’s prevented business, there being a buyer at £655; while 51s 9d was offered for Huddarts, but without attracting a seller., Yvestport Coals have firmed up, and were sold at 30s 9d, more being wanted at that figure ; but holders asked 30s lOd. N.Z. Refrigerators (10s pd.) have also hardened slightly, and were in demand at 26s Id, with a seller at 26s 4d. N.Z. Drugs were for sale at 60s, but buyers were only willing to give 58s.
