TO THE EDITOR. Sir, It is with pleasure that I read tho decision of the majority of the confectionery and tea room proprietors to clo»e tneir premises on Thursday, Friday, and Satußiay of both Christmas' and New Year weeks. Ido trust that those who do hot intend closing will show the same consideration_ to their employees and. close also, for it is only fair that these " omen should be able to look forward to a rest after their long hours. Those of us who are housewives will, I am sure do . ° ur popping beforehand if the proprietors will advertise the fact of their dosing ; mid nothing need bo lost thereby but muon respect gained,—l am, etc., tv , Housewife.
