The Waipori left Bluff yesterday afternoon for Newcastle, where she will load coal for Dunedin. The Stella is due_at Dunedin about Monday next with a cargo of coal from Westport. After discharge she will probably lay up until after the New Year holidays. The Pohenia left Westport yesterday afternoon with a cargo of coal'for Gisborne and Napier. The Mokoia arrived at Napier at 6 a.m. to-day from Auckland, and sailed shortly after mislay for Wellington. The Rosamond is to leave Oamaru tonight for Wellington and New Plymouth. The steamer Liberty, which i.s"due at Auckland about December 20 from New York, is bringing case oil and general i cargo. She will discharge part cargo at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Liborty should arrive here early in January. The schooner"Ysabel and the ketch Rira arrived at Auckland on Saturday from Niue Island. The Dunedin-owned echooner Progress, which arrived at Sydney some weeks aso from Kainara. left the New South Wales port on Saturday with general cargo for discharge at Lyttelton. The coal exported from Greymouth for the week ended December 6 amounted to 3,504 tons llcwt.
The congestion of cargoes on the New Zealand coast was demonstrated at Wellington one day last week. Thi agents for the small steamer Opawa commenced to receive cargo for Blenheim at 9 a m and 37 minutes later all available Mace had been reserved. This is thought to Lpe a record for the sort of .Wellington,
At last Friday's meeting of the Bluff (2 587 tons) had arrived in port, and four torTtTl rf 118l 18 ™^l P ve4els (S ton,) had left the port. This represents 191b, of 5,916 tons inward and 4,613 tons outward. The British India Company's steamer Carpentaria arrived at Auckland on the 11 m . st - f ™ m New York (November *)• A call was made at Pitcaim Island en route. All the cargo for New Zealand was landed at Auckland- 1400 tons from New York, and about 110 tons from Bristol. CORINTHIC AND WAIWERA HOME. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company haw received cable advice that the liner Connthic arrived at London on tho morning of December 9 from Wellington. The vessel left the northern port on October The same company's liner Waiwera arrived at London on the afternoon of Dcw? ,?• from Wellington. The vessel left Wellington on October 17. STANDARD STEAMER HATTMURA. has been received from London that the standardised steamer War Opal has been sold to the British-India Steam Navigation Company, and renamed the Hatimura. The vessel left New York last month for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney, under charter to the A. and A. Line, and should be here before the end of this month. The Hatimura is a steel steamer of 4,169 tone net, and 6,666 tens gross, 412 ft sin long, 55ft sin in breadth, and 34ft 4in in depth. She was built at Sunderland in 1918 by J L Thompson and Sons, Ltd. THE PALOONA. The Union Company advise that the Paloona is now expected to leave Melbourne on December 18 with passengers and general cargo for Bluff and Dunedin. She should arrive at Bluff on December 23, and at Dunedin on December 25. INCOMING VANCOUVER MAIL. The Niagara arrived at Suva at 5 a.m. to-day _ from Vancougjr and Honolulu, and sailed again shortly after midday for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday. After landing mails and passengers, and discharging a large quantity of general Canadian cargo, the Niagara will proceed to Sydney. THE SYDNEY STEAMER. The Moeraki arrived at Wellington at 9 a.m. to-day from Sydney with Australian mails and a large passenger and freight list. The vessel will not visit Lyttelton this trip, but will discharge the whole of her cargo at Wellington, and leave there on Thursday afternoon for Sydney and Hobarfc. OUTGOING SAN FRANCISCO MAIL. The departure of the R.M.S. Moana from Wellington for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco ha 6 been postponed until Saturday next. THE ISLAND STEAMERS. _ The Taluno left Suva at 5 p.m. on Saturday direct for Auckland, where she is due on Wednesday morning. She is bringing a large cargo of fruit for New Zealand. Tho Flora left Papeete on December 11 for the Cook Islands to complete loading fruit for Auckland. AMERICAN SCHOONERS COMING. Advice has been received which... states that the American schooner Commerce left San Francisco on November 25 with a cargo of case oil for Dunediii?vKh es h oll i { i arrive here about the middle of January. . The American schooner Samar sailed from San Francisco towards the end of November for Dunedin, with a cargo of case oil. This vessel may bo expected here towards the end of January.
