CITY POLICE COURT. (Before H- Y. Widdowson, Esq., S.M.I Obscene Language.—Roderick Mathieson and Albert Norman Sutherland were charged with nsing obscene language in St. Andrew street. They pleaded guilty. The senior sergeant said that at a quarter past si* last evening one of the accused took part in a fight, and during the encounter the language was used. They were each fined '4os~ in default 14 days' imprisonment Breach of the Peace—Joseph Sutherland was charged with using threatening behavior whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned. The senior sergeant said that accused was fighting with his brother, who appeared in the previous case. Accused was the aggressor.—Fined 40s or 14 days. Maintenance.—Henry Ernest Smith was called on to show cause why an order should not be made against him for the support of his unborn child.—Accused was remanded for a week, bail being allowed himself in £IOO and two sureties of £SO each. —Mittrc Facoory (Mr Irwin) was charged with being about to leave the Dominion without making provision for wife and child. The senior sergeant said that a wire had been received from Auckland cancelling the warrant. —The defendant was accordingly discharged.—Maurice James Heslip was called on to show cause why an order should not be made against him for the support of his child. Mr Irwin appeared for the complainant. The defendant, who admitted paternity, was ordered to pay 10s a week, past maintenance £3 10s, expenses £6 3s and solicitor's fee £2 2s. Security was also ordered to be found forthwith" by giving a bond to the Public Trustee for £IOO with two j securities of £SO each—in default six j months' imprisonment. I
