The second of a. aeries of dances organised by the Otago Women’s Patriotic Association and the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association was held in tho Art Gallery Hall last evening, and, as on the former occasion, was a distinct success. About 120 couples thoroughly enjoyed themselves and danced till after 11 o’clock. Mr Stewart, M.C., thanked those present for their attendance and read a telegram from Miss Downio Stewart, president of the Women’s Association, who regretted she was unable to be present, as she was in Wellington. He also announced that as a finale a fancy dross and tennis dance would be held in the Art Gallery on September 2. The music was supplied ny Messrs Rankin and Mitchell.
