It is learned that the Rumania generXjds refused to obey the Allied Comrrussion's request to stay their hand, and that they permitted pillaging. The Commission havo established a blockade, which is reducing Budapest to starvation. They destroyed the railways between Budapest and Vienna, and committed other violations of the rights of the Allies, and even of humanity. The Supreme Council's telegram to Romania requests the Government imme-. d iately to demonstrate by acts that the j inference of the Council that Rumania is | resolved to disregard their authority and I separate herselE from the Allies is mis- j taken. . | Mr Hoover, who is directing the relief t work in Hungary, has ordered the suspen-1 sion of all consignments of food to Budapest on the ground that the Rumanians 1 afe seizing the food. Rumania's defiance is having far reach- ] ing effects broad, and it has revived the hopes of the Turkish insurgents in the Committee of Union and Progress. In the House of Commons Mr Bonar Law said the Government had decided to raise the blockade in Hungary. HUNGARY'S AMBASSADOR FLIES. VIENNA, August 8. The newspaper 'Die Zeit' that the Hungarian Ambassador fled to Vienna after burning secret documents. Hungarian journalists and officers subsequently •went to the Embassy, where they thrasned and ejected the staff. Enormous and enthusiastic crowds do . monstrated all night long before the hotel in Budapest where the new Ministers are staving. The city remains ordgr^. The German correspondents at Budapest state that the Hungarian peasants are -wreaking vengeance on the Bolsheviks, whose leaders in many communes were publicly beaten to death. RUMANIA ADMONISHED. PARIS, August 8. The Supreme Council have addressed a sharp note to Rumania owing to her refusal to receive tho Allied military mission at Budapest.
