The Chief Justice recently quashed an indictment for bigamy ■ against James Jackson, in consequence of a decision in. a previous case where a second marriage had been contracted beyond the shores of New Zealand. A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that the announcement is now made by the Minister of Justice that authority has been given for the Judges of the first division of the Court of Appeal to sit with the Judges of the second division to hear the special case submitted to them of King v. James Jackson. Special authority was required, and has be&n given by Order in Council,;
