A TALE OF TWO CITIES

In a notable cast Jewel Carmen appears as Lucie Manette._ The story told on the Boreem sihowis Lucie, the daughter of a French physickm who lias been imprisoned in t!he Bastille because he knew soma seoreits of an arietocratic family, Kving in England. Hearing of ihar father s escapd, slho crosses to France to see him, and on the way meets Charles Doxnuy, son of the roan who had cent her father to tihe Bastille. Darnay is arrested in England as a spy. but is saved by Sidney Carton, through the retnarkaMe resemblance of tiho two men. Lucie, Darnay, and Carton become firm friends. Darnay wina tihe girl's lore and marries her, but Carton, who eliao loves her, hides his grief, and continues the friend of both., The Frendh Revolution breaks out in all its firry, ami Da-may goes back to save his f&titaetr's servant from the mob. He is arrested, by the Republican Guards and thrown into prison; but Luxie'e father, now a poptflar idol, saves him and secures his release. Lucie goes to him. but Barney is rearrested. Carton, hearing of Lucie's pligiht, goes to Paris. There he discovers Brasard. a former English epy, as an official of the prison where Darnay is incarcerated, and by threatening ham secures a promise of aid. Darn ay is tried before the revoluttionary tribunal and sentenced to dea/tih as am enemy of the Republic. Carton gains admittance to Barnay's cell, cMaraioTros him, and sends him out to a coach, where Da-may is met by Lawio and her friends and taken to England. Carton, in Barclay's clothes, answers his name the next day. and goes to the guillotine, giving his life for tho happiness of the -woman he loved but could not "wi?" 1 - Nexfr week matinees will be given daily, commencing at 2 p.m.
