PEACE CELEBRATIONS : ONE DAY ONLY-SATURDAY, JULY 19.

WELLINGTON, July 3. The Minister of Internal Affaii-a states that late last night a cable wa< received from the Imperial Government notifying that a change had been madein connection with peace celebrations. It bad now 'been resolved by the Imperial Government that thanksgiving services shall take place on Sunday next throughout the Empire, being the first Sunday after the, declaration of peace. It was also decided, with His Majesty's sanction, to hold celebrations in the United Kingdom on Saturday. July 19, and to have all tihe celebrations ,n one day. In order that New Zealand may act in_ accordance with Hie Majesty's wishes Cabinet ha 3 resolved that its .previous decision to .hold Uiree days' celebrations shall be cancelled. The celebrations will take place m New Zealand on the same day as in the Mother Country. The heads of churches and rnibUe bodies have been notified accordingly.
