■ To-night, at His Majesty’s Theatre, J. C. Williamsons Royal Comic Opera Company will stage for the first time to playgoers of Dunedin the extending comic opera success of recent y ears, ‘ The Pink Lady,’ which has attracted record audiences in almost every part of the Englishspeaking world. All ihoss who remember tlxe glowing melodies of ‘ Ma Mio Rosette ’ will acknowledge the capacity of Ivan Caryll in the making of music that attracts, and when it is known that this eompos6i'’s finest and most successful work is ‘The Pink Lady’ it will be admitted that there are outstanding musical attributes in the score .of this opera that win favor on fhcxr merits. It is stated that ‘The Pink Lady’ is one of the finest productions the Williamson, _ Ltd., management has given tho public for many years, not excluding ‘Katinka,’ ‘Maytime,’ and ‘ The Merry Widow.’ Tho plot and spectacle are said to be far in advance of the ordinary run of musical plays, whilst it is claimed that tho dressing, the scenery, the electric effects, the ballets, and the mountings equal those_of any pantomime. Alias Gladys Moncrieff has achieved her greatest success in the name part, which includes some very excellent musical numbers; Miss Florence Young will bo heard in what is considered her greatest song success, ‘ Donny Did, Donuy Didn’t ’; Mr Phil Smith and Mr Leslie Holland will be seen in their merriest mood in ‘ The Pink Lady,’ and Messrs Reginald Roberts, Jack Ralston, Claude Bantock, Percy Claridgc, also the Aliases Olive Godwin and Ad die Leonard, have all congenial parts to sing and act. The dancing of Miss Male Baird and Mr Robert M'Kinnon is a feature of tho production, It will bo a “record” house for Dunedin, every seat being booked up at top. prices.
