ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
Wilfred Melville, aged 37 years, creamery manager at East Tam-aki (Auckland), was found dead yesterday hanging from a rafter in the creamery. At the inquest a verdict was returned that the deceased committed suicide by strangulation. Thomas Lowrio, a surfaceman, aged 55 years, was killed on the railway at To ’Knit! yestexdiay. The deceased and .another surfaceman were on a trolly returning to Puketutu after their day’s work, and when rounding a bond they mot a -goods train. Mr Lowrie had no chance, as his back was turned to tho engine, but the other surfaceman managed to dido off in time, and was only slightly injured.
