SINN FEIN AND BOLSHEVIK STAMPS
Others besides philatelists will bo interested to know that Sinu Fein and Bolshevik stamps were to bo obtained in London stamp shops, though they were only being sold for the curio enthusiast and not as legitimate revenue articles. A London paper representative was shown specimens from an Ambassador's collection, which contained two of the Bolshevik Republic of Russia issues. They were dated J. 918, and were for 35 and 70 kopeken. Each contained the same printed picture—a baud (shown to the wrist) grasping a sword and smashing the shncklc-s of a chain. Behind was the rising sun, symbolical of the awakening. There were three issues of the Sinn Feiu stamp at the declaration of tho first “ republic,” and there were three designs—one with a blue cross and the. word Erin,” one green and yellow, with the Irish harp, and the third a shamrock leaf, the segments of which contained portraits of the three rebels who were executed, and their names.
