APPALLING CONDITIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, June 30. (Received July 1, at 9 a.m.) Loii’d Curzon (Leader of the House of Lords) states that appalling distress exists in Poland, Czecho-Slovalda, and Serbia, which are faced with destitution, disease, and despair. The Treasury has agreed to subsidise by £ for £ all charitable funds, to a maximum of £200,000, raised in Britain for the relief of distress in European countries.
