SATORDAY'S HARRIERS

The Caversham Harriers held a splendid run from the Mornington School. A good trail was laid, and the members did the nra in good time. The Sfc. Kilda Harriers also held their run from Mornington School. The trail led down the hill from Mornington to Kaikorai Valley, and then over tho Mils towards Mount Grand, making a. turn to the left till the reservoir was reached. Thence •the trail led to Burnside, up the Caversham Rise, on to Eglinton road, from which a fast run home was made.

One of the most enjoyable runs the Pacific Club have had this season was held from the D.A.B.Cs sheds at Anderson Bay. The trail, which was laid by Hill and Henderson, led over the hills towards Macandrew Bay. and then struck across countrv, comiu'sr out at the Tomahawk Lagoon. The pack, which was under the leadership of Captain Harvey, then took the road for home via the terminus, and a fast run was made from the foot oi the hill. , . The Anglican Harriers held their run from the Mornington School. The captain (B. R- M'Keman) led the pack down into th*> Kaikorai Valley, up the hills on the opposite side, and across irregular country until the Silverstream race was reached, which was followed to the Southern Reservoir. From the reservoir the direction taken led across the valley near Burnside

and on to the hills above Caversham, thence home. A points competition has been inaugurated, the winner of which will be the member obtaining most points For the rnn home during' the season. On Saturday, Steel was first and MacLennan second. The members were subsequently entertained at the Strand Tea Rooms.

'The Civil Service Harriers decided their one- mile and a-half maiden race at St. Clair. Tho pace in the last 440 yards was very fast, and Henderson landed home a winner by a few yards from Connelly, with the remainder of the runners close up. Result: K. Henderson (70sec) 1, 1\ Connelly (lOsec) 2, V. Tily (25sec) 5.
