On being asked at Christchurch if he bad secured any results from his appeal to Australia for coal miners, the Hon. Mr Mac Donald practically admitted that he had not. So far as eouid be gathered the Australians were very_ reluctant about coming over here, especially as the Cobar mines were to reopen under new conditions.
