NAVAL SURRENDER PICTURE
Messrs J. and X. Tiiit's season at the King's Theatre with the authentic historical picture of the inglorious surrender of the. German naval fleet commences at the matinee to-morrow afternoon, the screenings being advertised'for 2 and 3.15. Most of the public school children are to attend the afternoon performances, which are being held daily. The Jilm lias been booked well ahead, and it will be impossible for a return or to extend the season till after Saturday next. The box plan at The Bristol gives every indication of another big season. The day when really Germany threw up the sponge in the great world war for supremacy was the day the British Fleet, under Admiral Sir.David Beatty, went for a little trip into the North Sea on the morning of Thursday, November 21, and met upon the high "seas the German fleet from .Kiel, which at once made itself amenable to the orders of the British Admiral. Even in naval circles the mere suggestion of such a situation arising was not credited. Our men could not believe that other naval men could display such craven spirit as that which must have obsessed the soul of the German Admiralty after Jutland—they thought all along that the German fleet would at last come out and have a final battle, but the unexpected happened, the impossible became possible. Beatty's actual order issued- the evening before the surrender was: "09.40 Battle Fleet meet the German fleet."' Only that, and nothing more. The line travelogue of Egypt and the American fleet meeting President Wilson 400 miles at sea on his way to the Peace Conference will also be shown in conjunction with the naval surrender picture.
