DUNEDIN CITY MISSION
The monthly meeting of the executive, held yesterday, was attended by the Hon. 0. M" Thomson (president), Messrs W. T. Talbovs, Wm. J. Love, P. L. Clark 11. Renfree, H. Mitchell, E. Aslin, L. Rosevear, and D. Wright (missionary). The hon. treasurer reported that there was not onlv a good credit balance, but also donations for the month of £39 orta. The President road a letter from a generous donor expressing the hope thnt_the missionary would be spared to continue the work" with which he has been so long identified. Mr Thomson also read to the meeting a resolution recently passed by the office-bearers of Knox Church on Mr Wright's having reached his jubilee as an elder of the. Presbyterian Church, and the fact that for long years he hud done, in New Zealand and* Australia, successful evangelistic work. And, further, that for a long stretch of years he had carried on Bible classes in State schools, which had been attended by a groat multitude of children and young people. _ In h'> monthly memo, the missionary gave m*:v details concerning the visitation of sick and aged people- concerning the large classes in State schools ; he had recently conducted services in Koelyn, King Street Church, Dipton, and Fernhills (Soiithlancb, Choral Hall, Cavershani, etc. ; and quoting Bishop Cumberland, who said : "It is better to wear out than rust out." the missionary added : "I try to do it."
