INSULATED TONNAGE
[Special to the ' Star.'] CHRISTCHURCH, May 7. Although the lion. D. H. Guthrie, Minister in Charge of Imperial Supplies, has communicated" with the North Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union stating that within the last few days the Overseas Shipping Committee had allocated a considerable quantity of space, to Lyttelton and Timaru, inquiries in shipping circles show that this is not the case, at any rate as regards refrigerated tonnage. ' The position in connection with refrigerated shipping is that three vessels originally intended to load in Australia in May have been diverted to the Dominion. Their future movements are as follow: The Westmoreland will call and load at tho Bluff, proceeding thence to Wellington and completing her cargo there. The Devon will load in Lyttelton. taking 73,C00 freight, carcasses. The other vessel, the Port Sydney, will load in the North Island.
