PEACE CELEBRATIONS.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —Re bonfires for peace celebrations, I would respectfully submit the following for the guidance of our future Mayor and city .councillors:—That a strong committee be formed for the following places: -—Opolio, Tine Hill, Maori Hill, Koslyn. Morning ton, Caversham, St. the Peninsula. That tho committee arrange, for bonfires at suitable places, and the residents be invited to form working bees to cut all the gorse and broom in the vicinity and have it carted fc the selected places. The healthy rivalry between the different workers would t-end to make n brilliant show for Peace Night, and would also help to clear Dunedin suburbs of ,i>i ever-increasing eyesore. The burning id good fuel when it is such a scarce com modify is wrong, and the above idea wmi!-' meet the ease without expense.—l an etc., H.H.T. May 6.
