DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. THE WEEK’S" BUSINESS. The market after the holidays has been firm, with a good demand for investment shares. Bank shares continue firm. Bank of New South Wales being in good demand, with sales at £59. In Nationals, owing to the delay in allotment, there has beet a slackness in transactions. Both issnei of Bank of New Zealand have good in quiry. In insurance shares t/hore have beer sales in New Zealands at £ls 14s, whilst Nationals are inclined -to he easier, with sales at 77s 9d. Shipping shares have had a good turn of business, P. and O.s being inclined to firm, with sales at £335, the market closing with buyers at £396 and sellers at £4OO. Huddart-Parkors have had sales at 59s 6d, 395, and 59s sd. the market closing with buyers at 39s 3a and sellers at 39s 6d. Westport Coals are in good demand, buyers offering 51s 9d, sellers asking 325. Stocktons are rather in favor of buyers. D.I.C. (ord.) are wanted at Is premium and preference at 20s 3d, ex cliv. Dominion Rubbers have had business at 27s 6d. Refrigerators have been on offer at 57s 6d, with buyers at 565. Woollen shares are in good demand, £7 10s being offered for Kaiapois. Milbum Limes ara wanted at 34s 6d, with sellers at 355, while Wilson’s have had business at 15s 3d. National Mortgages hays had good inquiry, the local shares having buyers at 94 ?l with sellers at 100s. New Zealand Drims have had a close market, buyers at 555, tellers at 53s 6d; the new issue ara on offer at 11s 3d. New Zealand Paper Mills have had sales at 24s 3d. dosing with further buyers at that price and sellers at 24b 4d. Perpetual Trustees aw wanted at 27s 6d, and ‘Daily Times’ at 575. Whitcombs and Tombs have buyers at £6 3s, and Wright, Stephensons are wanted at 955. In the mining market Talismans him been wanted at Bs, with sellers at 8s 6< and sales at Bs.
