THE STATUTORY HALF-HOLIDAY
In some of the municipal election* yesterday the half-holiday question was an issue.' The result* were: Palnvsrston North.—For Wednesday, 1,532 ; for Saturday, 1,110 Feilding.—Saturday was chosen. West-port.—For Thursday, 829; for Saturday, 644. The Electahuna poll resulted in Wednesday being maintained. Hamilton approved by a large majority of Saturday as the half-holiday. Formerly Wednesday had been observed. Te Kuiti also approved of Saturday as the. statutory half-holiday.
