A MANS WORLD
The Metro studio produces many excellent films, and -'A Man's World,' released for the first time at the Empire Theatre to-day, i 3 above the average. 'A Mjui's World,' a love story of a creative genius, is the screen version of Rachel Crothcr's dramatic play of the same name. Frankio Ware, the novelist in this picture, provides a role of real power for Emily Stevens, who has demonstrated her ability as a screen star in previous pictures. The dramatic scene in which Frederick Truesdell. as Gaskell the publisher, contending that this is a "man's world," and that a man generally gets what he wants, attacks Frankie in a rage of jealous passion, is one of the most absorbing and exciting ever thrown upon a screen. Miss Stevens handles the difficult scene well, and is admirably aided by the acting of Mr Truesdell as Gaskell. John Merkyl as David Powell, who comes to the rescue, and of appealing little 'Baby Ivy Ward as the boy "Kiddie." A Mack Sennett comedy, 'lLadies First,' and a Topical Gazette complete a highly entertaining programme.
