Only one transaction took placo at tile first call-over to-day—that was in Westport Coal at 31s 6d, the market closing with a further seller at that price, buyers offering 31s 4d. The dredging and sluicing section continues to be neglected. There were no buyers for quartz shares. Consolidated C-kudfields, Grand Junctions, and Mount Lvells are all on offer. In the investment'market a margin of 6d prevented business in Huddarts, there being a buyer at 39s 3d. Colonial Sugars had good inquiry at £24 ss, but sellers asked £24 15s. Whitcombo and Tombs were wa.nted at 121s 6d, but sellers asked 2s more, Otago Preserves were on offer at 23s 6d, without buvers coming forward. Sales on 'Change.—Westport Coal Company, 31/6.
