CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
The garde.' l fete to be held in the Botanic Gardens on Saturday next promises to l>e more attractive than any previous garden fete. The attractions will bo of a varied order, including band music, vocal items bv leading local artists, performances by Messrs Fuller and Sons' artists, dancing competitions. de-orative competitions, dances by the Puketeraki troupe of dancer-,, and various other competitions and sideshows. There will be a number of stalls stocked with produce and other artii li-.=;, and. also n refreshment tent. In the evening tho Gardens will be illuminated. The fete will be open from 2 till 5 p.m., and from 6 p.m. till 10 p.m. In connection with fh.e fete, an art union is to be held, tho first prize being a gold raugjet valued at £2O, the second prize a gold nugget valued at £lO. The tickets are one shilling each, includine admission to the feto. The art union tickets will not be sold at the gates. The funds will go towards equipping the Children's Hospital and providing a children's plavfield.
