LONDON, January 21,

The American Labor Delegation conferred with the Trade Union Congress Committee, and discussed Mr Gompers’s proposal for an interallied and neutral conference instead of an international one. The meeting was adjourned. It is understood that the British delegates favor a preliminary interallied conference, but do not support the American delegation’s objections to the international conference.

BERNE, January 21. Mr A. Henderson, interviewed, stated that he was unable to understand Mr Gompers’s change of front. He was one of four members appointed by the last interallied conference to organise the Labor Socialist Conference to sit concurrently with, the Peace Conference. It was this mandate which the conveners of the Berne Conference were carrying out. Mr Gompers’s objection was to meeting Bolsheviks ; but neither Russian Bolsheviks nor German Spartacusians would bo represented
