CHILDREN'S HOME

A largely-attended meeting was held in Mr E. &. 'Wilson’s board room yesterday afternoon to make preliminary arrangements regarding- the Children's Convalescent Horne and children’s playgrounds at Caversham. Mr M- Cohen presided. It was resolved that the garden fete be held in the Botanic Gardena on February 31, in the afternoon and evening, and that an art union ho held in connection with the fete.

The following sub-committee was appointed to arrange for the necessary stalls : —Mrs Bnttenvorth (convener). Mesdames Marfie, Spain, Statham, and Miss Burt.

The following were appointed a committee to arrange attractions for the afternoon and evening:—Messrs E. Anscombe (convener), J. Bennie. C. J. Thorn, G. A. Wycherley, J. Brown, W, J. Strong, R Benncll, E. L. Macassey, J. H. Walker, and W. S. Wilson, with power to add to their number.

Messrs H. Harris (convener), D. M. Stuart, and H. Naphth-ali were appointed a Sports and Side? Show Committee, with power to add to (heir number. (Messrs M. Cohen (convener), A. H. Oswin. V. S. Jacobs, and T. Somerville were appointed a committee to make arrangement; re art union special prizes. Messrs T. Somerville, M. Cohen, A. H. Oswin, and J. Brown were appointed a Pro a ram m e Comm ill ee. Several suggestions were made re attractions for (lie fete, which wore referred to (ho various sub-committees. A meeting of the committee will be held towards Um end of January to receive reports irom the various sub-committees.
