o \*ezk\ nr luenza Read what the Ounedfn health Officer says about the prevailing ieiflyenza Epidemic:— As influenza is not a notifiable disease, I had no official knowledge of the extent of its ravages in Dunedin. From conversations, however, with medical men, I learnt that there is a fairly widespread local epidemic of influenza, and I personally know that a number of doctors and medical students are laid up with it. The disease is characterised by the suddenness of its onset and the great prostration during both the actual attack and convalescence. Most sufferers are laid up from seven to ten days. From the bacteriological examinations that it has been possible to make so far, the disease appears to be caused by the true influenza bacillus, which is * often associated with pneumo-coccus, the organism usually responsible for pneumonia. The more severe cases might develop bronchial symptoms, and if neglected actual pneumonia might ensue. olally draw your attention to the last sentence—actual pneumonia might ensue.” Corns tc-rfay and get our well-known INFLUENZA MIXTURE.
