All previous records in ship finishing, it is reported, have been beaten by a marvellous performance on the part of tho men of Messrs Workman, Clark, and Co., Ltd., Belfast, who have completed a standard ship of 8,,000 tons in three and threequarter days. The vessel loft tho stocks on a Thursday afternoon (main engines and boilers were all on board the same evenings), and so rapidly was she brought forward that sho ran her mooring trials on tiro Friday afternoon. Steam was up 44 hours after tho boilers were in place on tho Saturday, which was a short day, and on the Sunday the ship left for Jier preliminary run, tho trials proving satisfactory in every respect. The previous record' was held by Afcssrs Hnrland and Wolff, Ltd., Belfast, who finished a vessel last month in five days.
