Myers informed Mr Stathani that opportunity would be given to business people in tho various centres to tender for surplus military stores after all military renuiremonts had been served. Replying to Mr Brown, the Hon. T. M. Wilford said ho could not ask the Government to print tho evidence taken before the Waterside Commission because it was very voluminous, but he would have tho report printed and circulated. Replying to Mr Wright, Six Joseph Ward said ho would approach the Cable Company with a view to getting a reduction in the present charges on cables to soldiers at the front. In answer to Mr Hornsby, the Prime Minister said that Cabinet was now considering a scheme for caring for orphan children whose parents were .wept away by the influenza epidemic. They had not vet arrived at a final decision, but ho hoped the Finance Minister would make a statement on iho subject dn the oonme of a very few days. In reply to another /Question, the Prime Minister said ho would bo pleased to make further representations to tho Homo authorities regarding the danger of permitting the American, Meat Trust to extend operations to various parte of tho Empire. Six Joseph Word, added that ho had, in conjunction with tho Prims Minister, mado a representation on this subject, and ho would bo glad to renew his efforts an this direction.

A Bill making provision for tho repatriation of soldiers was brought down by Govomar’B Message, and reed a first time. The Prime Minister said ho hoped it •would come on for •consideration that afternoon. The House rose at 1 o’clock.
