THE LABOR PARTY’S NEW POLICY.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Your article of Friday on the above subject, brief though it is, seems to me of sucn seasonable outspoken truthfulness in its presentation of a very serious aspect of the subject, as to justify a recommending of its careful perusal by everyone sincerely interested in the welldoing and well-being of all classes of the world’s humanity. And who is_ not, in this time of groat perplexity? You have —not too soon—worthily sought to draw attention to the present-day insidious influence and action of many ranks of the people to take advantage of the world’s present harassment by using it as opportunity for dominating, and to indulge in extravagance in their demands, apparently quite devoid of a due sense of. or any concern for, the selfishness of their course. Try as those referred to may to plead otherwise, and to shift the responsibility, this statement will remain as a truth; and the perpetrators of any such action, whatever their rank may be, should ponder well that, by earnest thought, desire, and deed, they individually and collectively—ere it be too late—take every precaution against being infected v-'itly that horrifying, malig lant disease, anarcny a sign of the times, and a trouble far greater than the war itself. To those who study life impassively beyond tli© surface of the world’s doings, the “ disease ’ has already a stronghold — in varying intensity—in all the nominally civilised nations; and unquestionably able and wise physicians, as specialists, must become in evidence to radically ascertain the fundamental cause of the ** disease.” and the essential remedy to bo adopted. May the administering of the remedy follow adequately. Meanwhile, let avoidance of ** contact ” he strenuously adopted in everv cornnumity. your article be esteemed as most worthy of notice and contemplation as an appropriate public warning, albeit it may bo but a definition of the subject.—l am, etc., Xokax.
